it
would stand
to reason
that
that
filial
salute
was
just
a
gesture
of
fraternal
regard.
you,
the master
poet
who shared
your
passion
for life
and writing
with
a hungry,
yet innocent
young girl;
in a
housing project
bedroom.
who
am i
to dream
of something
more…
these days
when surprises
are at
premium
and
serendipity is
lost.
it
would stand
to reason
that
my
heart
still has
a compass
that heads
to home..
that i
might think
my big brother’s
friend
would see me
as
a woman.
that a spark
of
old
might
ignite
a
flame
to warm
this
aging
heart.
